The Christian Response
to Apostates and their Teaching
Allow God to use you in extending his mercy to those caught in
the web of Apostates
Jude
22 And have mercy on some, who are doubting;
23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have
mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh
Be on your guard
2 Peter 3:17
17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard
so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men
and fall from your own steadfastness
Test the Spirits (teachers)
1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see
whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out
into the world.
Grow in Grace and knowledge
1 Pet 2:1
1 like newborn babies, long for the pure
milk of the word, so that by it you may
grow in
respect to salvation
2 Peter 3:18
18 but
grow in the grace and knowledge
of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now
and to the day of eternity. Amen
Be under sound Godly teaching
Eph 4:11-14
11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as
evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
Purpose
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the
building up of the body of Christ
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the
knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the
stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
The Result
14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and
there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the
trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
Apply what you are learning
Heb 5:17
17 But solid food is for the mature, who because of
practice have
their senses trained to discern good and evil
Contend for the faith
Jude 3-4
3 Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our
common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing
that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all
handed down to the saints.
4 For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long
beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who
turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only
Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Keep and eye on them
Romans 16:17-18
17 Now I urge you, brethren,
keep your eye on those who cause
dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you
learned, and turn away from them.
18 For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own
appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive
the hearts of the unsuspecting
Expose them
Eph 5:11
Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead
even expose them;....
Avoid them
2 Timothy 1:5
1 But realize this, that in the last days
difficult times will come
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful,
arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control,
brutal, haters of ,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than
lovers of ,
5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its
power;
Avoid such men as these
